Fukuoka Summer Pal Festival (there was also Chikushi)

Blog

Hello, this is Fukushima.

This weekend, I had two consecutive lectures by Fontworks Type Designers.

"Fonts in the digital age: Chikushi typeface"

On the night of Friday, July 26th, at the creator / brand marketer meet up !!

"Fonts in the digital age: Chikushi typeface"

The Type Designers Fujita talked about the topic.

Part 1 is about the Chikushi typeface.

The second part was a talk session with Fujita and designers Amada, Takeshige, and moderated by Professor Morita of Fukuoka University.

Hashtag "# Mystery of Chikushi typeface" Based on the questions we received from everyone, the discussion proceeded from the perspective of the creator, Fujita, and the users, Amata and Takeshige.

The talk was so much fun that I had a lot of time. I'm sorry I didn't pick up the questions I received a lot ...

"~ Yurukawa? Weakness? Gothic lolita? The appearance of letters can be seen ~ The story of the font designer"

And the next day, Saturday, July 27th, at Fukuoka Tenjin University,

"~ Yurukawa? Weakness? Gothic lolita? The appearance of letters can be seen ~ The story of the font designer"

Ochi, a Type Designers talked about this.

How, the sponsored Fukuoka Tenjin University specially made a can badge for today's lecture title. Impressed! ! !

In the workshop and crosstalk format, the talk session proceeded in a fun atmosphere with a very cozy atmosphere and a constant laughter with the designer Amada, who I had with you yesterday.

First from the workshop.

Which is scary? Why are you scared The impression that was received from the font Language workshop to be of. In each of the 5 patterns, each group summarized their impressions on imitation paper and presented.

We were surprised to see what we hadn't thought of.

Some say that the delicious water version has different production areas and feels like water with a high sense of beauty. The vegetable snacks were handmade, and there were discussions for adults and children, and so many opinions came out.

The two speakers were particularly interested in the opinion that they felt the difference in the production area.

In Ochi's point of view as a Type Designers, who is Mr. Amada looking at? It's really helpful to listen to the story from the point of view unique to the designer.

A workshop that was exciting all the time. Most of the visitors were non-designers, but I think everyone was really interested in the fonts.

The speakers and participants are all happy. It's been a while since the workshop was so exciting.

And in the second part, what kind of profession is a Type Designers? The story.

PalRetron Based on an actual example, how Am I made a typeface, how to design a typeface, etc. .

I once again realized that the impression that a font receives varies from person to person.

As Ochi talked about, no matter what impression or impression you have, it is absolutely correct. In addition to transmitting information, fonts convey positive α elements such as emotions and scenes.

I hope that through this lecture, you will be able to use the fonts that you normally use casually, with a little awareness, and enjoy changing the font!
