He studied under Ishibashi Saisui and is active as a calligrapher. He has also developed many calligraphy fonts and his works have been introduced overseas, spreading calligraphy not only in Japan but also around the world.
As a pioneer of calligraphy, he has appeared on NHK Educational TV's "A Masterpiece in 100 Minutes" four times, and is also active in the media, writing subtitles and titles, and having his works featured on television programs and in magazines.
