For two days, October 9th (Wednesday) and October 10th (Thursday), 2019 at FONTPLUS DAY Seminar Vol. 21 "Nakamura Typeface and Chikushi Typeface-Invite Masahiro Nakamura and Shigenobu Fujita" , Type Designers Fujita will give a talk session with Yasuhiro Nakamura, who produced the typefaces of "Gonna" and "Knar".

At this FONTLUS DAY Seminar Vol. 21 / FONTPLUS DAY Seminar Vol. 21 (re-enactment), we invited two Type Designers representing the analog and digital eras and asked, "Why Nar Gonna was born?" I will tell you about the secret story of birth and secret story of production such as "Why was the Chikushi typeface born?"
When the font was still analog (typesetting), Mr. Yasuhiro Nakamura created "Knar" and "Gona", which can be said to be "the definitive edition" of modern typefaces in Maru Gothic and Gothic. It had a great influence on graphic design from the 1970s to the 1990s. Then, starting with "Tsukushi Mincho" released in 2003, the series has been developed one after another, such as "Tsukushi Gothic", "Tsukushi Antique Mincho", "Tsukushi Maru Gothic", "Tsukushi Vintage Mincho", etc. Shigenobu Fujita is the creator of the Chikushi typeface series, which has both design characteristics.
All of these typefaces are the typefaces you have always seen in novels, comics, Advertisement, posters, etc. Designers who are familiar with typefaces have said that "there is no modern Gothic typeface that surpasses Nar and Gonna," and Chikushi typefaces have been highly evaluated by book designers. Tell them what kind of thoughts and ideas they used to create the typeface. This event will be held in Nagoya on April 21st of this year, and the popular Event will be held in Tokyo. Think of it as an evolved version of the plan for Nagoya.
