Fontworks Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Fuminobu Sato, hereinafter referred to as Fontworks) plans to change its name to Monotype KK on March 31, 2025.
In 2002, Fontworks launched LETS (Leading Edge Type Solution), the first annual subscription font service in the Japanese industry, and has contributed to shortening the distance between people and people, people and information, and people and works around the world.
In September 2023, the company became a subsidiary of U.S.-based Monotype Imaging Inc. (Head Office: Wooban, Massachusetts, CEO: Ninan Chacko), a leading font company offering one of the world's largest libraries of fonts, and will be renamed Monotype Imaging Inc. on March 31, 2025. The company will merge with the current Monotype KK and change its name from Fontworks Inc. to Monotype KK (hereafter referred to as Monotype) as of March 31, 2025.
