Bitmap fonts are provided in three types: black binary images, grayscale 4 gradations and 16 gradations.
Binary image
It is drawn in only two gray levels, and it is the lightest. The person who sees it has jaggies.
Bitmap font
It is a font in which the shape of a letter is represented by square dots (pixels). Since the font data itself is extremely lightweight and the load on drawing is light, it is ideal for devices that have limited capacity and want to use light resources such as CPU and memory.

Main points of bitmap font
Represented by square dots
It is a font in which the shape of a letter is represented by square dots (pixels). You can choose from 2 gray levels to 16 gray scale levels.
For low spec equipment
The font data itself is extremely lightweight and the load on drawing is light, making it ideal for devices with limited capacity.
Display characters even in non-OS environment
Characters can be displayed even in environments where a rasterizer is not incorporated, such as various home appliances, electronic dictionaries, car navigation systems, and electronic display devices.

Grayscale 4 gradation
Since it is drawn in 4 gradations including gray, jaggies are reduced and the outline can be seen smoothly.
Grayscale 16 gradation
Since it is drawn in 16 gradations, the contour line can be seen more smoothly than in 4 gradations.
Size notation
Use "letter" and "body" to represent the size of the bitmap font. In the example on the right, when characters are displayed horizontally, there will be a space of at least 1 pixel to the left and right of the characters.

Chinese government certified (CESI certified) bitmap font
When incorporating bitmap fonts (simplified characters) into products sold in China, font data based on China's national standard (GB) will be procured from the China Institute of Electronics and Standardization (CESI). We will request the transfer from Keisei Co., Ltd., which is an authorized distributor authorized by the Chinese government, which is procuring bitmap fonts from CESI and acting as a license contract.
