How many typefaces do you know? Mincho typeface, Gothic typeface, regular typeface, and... Even though I see it every day, I may not be familiar with "typeface" unexpectedly.
In fact, the “Font Karuta” (48 typefaces) (*1) that we introduced and sold at MMM since last year has become a standard and popular product since its launch. I would like to take this opportunity to look at "typefaces" and "letters" again.
Even with the same characters, the details are different and the facial expressions are different depending on the typeface as shown here, and each has its own character. Experts of "Font Karuta" can see the difference in an instant. You also say that "God dwells in the details."
So what kind of thoughts and feelings do the people who make typefaces design fonts? Imagine what kind of use scenes and expression media you are trying to make. Do fonts reflect the mood and sensibility of the times?
Mr. Shigenobu Fujita, the award-winning designer of the "Tokyo TDC Award 2018" (*2) and widely known as the developer of "Tsukushitai" installed as a standard font on Mac, was invited as a lecturer and his passion for creating new typefaces Knowing the commitment of development, which is also called "heresy", we will explore hints to see the letters and typefaces we touch in our daily lives with a rich sense. You will surely become an “adult who can see the difference”!

MMM is the predecessor of MMF (Maison de Musée de France), which was established in 2003 as a joint project with RMN (French National Museum Union) and DNP (Dai Nippon Printing). Taking the 10th anniversary of the opening of MMF as an opportunity, we expanded the area of information and products to be provided based on the activities up to that point, and renamed it "MMM (Maison de Musée du Monde)" in May 2013. It was reopened.

As one of the "DNP's cultural activities," the MMF will provide information on French museums (art museums) and exhibit and sell their official museum goods, with the motto "Art for life". It was
In the new MMM, we will further expand the activities that connect art and daily life, cultivated mainly in France, and will provide information and museum goods related to museums in the "Mondo" world, not limited to France. I will come. At the same time, it is linked to the activities of "Ginza Graphic Gallery (ggg)", which is adjacent to MMM and introduces world graphic design. We will also introduce and sell.

MMM (Maison de Musée du Monde) will expand the points of contact between world art and design and lifestyle.
