Fontworks, jointly with Chinese font maker HOUSEI Co., Ltd. and Mei Lun International Law Office, has developed the latest version of the Chinese National Standards (GB18030-2022) and the Copyright Policy on Chinese Fonts, Recently We will hold an online seminar on March 3, 2023 (Friday).

From August 1, 2023, the latest version of the Chinese National Standard (GB18030-2022) will be applied. As a result, some products distributed in China that display characters must comply with GB18030-2022.
In the first half of the seminar, we have invited Mr. Shingo Mori, a lawyer from Meirin International Law Office, to explain the concept of copyright regarding Chinese fonts using recent court precedents.
In the second half of the seminar, HOUSEI Co., Ltd. will explain the outline of GB18030-2022 and the changes and notes of the new version.
There will also be time for Q&A on the day.
This is important information related to customers who already have or are planning to do business in Mainland China.
