The select font service “mojimo” will celebrate its 4th anniversary in March 2022. To commemorate that, we are offering new packs for three consecutive months from January 2022.
The second is “mojimo-retro future,” which was launched on Tuesday, February 22nd.

New pack production start
Recently, offline Event have been postponed or canceled one after another, and our daily lives are changing from offline to online. And as a place of expression, it has changed not only to manga and illustrations, but also to videos and virtual spaces.
Under such circumstances, Fontworks wanted to create a pack that complements the "unique personality" that is close to the current era, and created a new pack that uses fonts that have not been included in mojimo so far. It was started.
Uses fonts not found in previous mojimo
The Latin typefaces included in "mojimo-retro future" this time were asked by the person in charge of the font production department, "How about using this font as mojimo?" When I first saw that typeface, I still remember being surprised at how unique it was.

The appearance is pop and fun, and it seems that it can be used as a background for games and illustrations.

European fonts such as "OWLPHABET" are typefaces created by Joachim Müller-Lancé (our director of European fonts), who is highly acclaimed around the world for his typography and graphic design.

Born in Germany in 1961. He studied graphic design at the Basel School of Design in Switzerland and received high praise, winning typography competitions in various countries, including Japan.
He has also taught at schools in several countries around the world and has contributed articles and works on graphic design and typography to publications. In addition, he is in charge of information design and VI (visual identity) for several overseas companies.
In 2018, he worked as a design director for YOON Design, a font manufacturer in Seoul. In 2020, he joined Fontworks and became the type director of his current position in Western Fonts.
Four Japanese typefaces were selected to match the unique European typefaces.
"Gospel", which has been requested by many users, has finally joined mojimo. The sharp form and pop taste are ideal for comical music and variety videos.

A newly written key visual that expresses the world view of the recorded fonts
When selecting the typeface for this pack and creating the site, we decided on the word "retro future" as a common image. According to Wikipedia, it is written as "a future image drawn by people from the late 19th century to the middle of the 20th century". If you search for images with "retro future", you can feel the world view more, so I would like you to search for it.
In order to create such a “retro future” world view, the key visual illustration that will be the face of the pack is drawn by illustrator Tomowaka under the themes of “city pop & subculture” and “nostalgic yet new”. Thank you.
The illustration tells the story of two retro-loving characters living in the future who encounter “mojimo” and start their creative activities. Stationery and gadgets are drawn in detail, so please take a close look!

"mojimo-retro future" is the result of interweaving a unique font and a worldview that matches it. It is a wide range of licenses, not only for manga and illustrations, but also for embedding in videos and games.

② Enter customer information and select products.
