Fontworks Inc., Ltd. has been conducting research on "Universal Design (universal design) fonts" in search of further possibilities for fonts and seeking optimal fonts for the visually impaired and the elderly.

In the first research, we conducted an experiment targeting elderly people, concluded that "there is not much difference between elderly people and young people", and released Universal Design fonts.
This time, we will deliver the optimal font for all groups by changing the character design so that it becomes the optimal UD font for each specific group, instead of developing only one design that is effective for all people. In line with this idea, I decided to work on research that addresses small differences.

In addition, in the discussion so far, there was an opinion that "it would be better to incorporate research not only for the elderly but also for the Universal Design impaired." We do research and development.
