Lightweight font for extremely small screen devices

Embedded font

Fonts for ultra-small screen devices remain highly readable even when displayed in small sizes. It is suitable for use in wearable devices where characters tend to be small due to screen size. There are 3 types: "Type-D" for high-spec devices, "Type-Ds" that is lighter for medium and high-spec devices, and "Type-Dxs" that is provided as a set with the FW font engine for low-spec devices. I am preparing.

Recommended

  • I want to improve readability even on the smallest screen of wearable devices.

Main points of lightweight fonts for ultra-small screen devices

Developed based on Universal Design font

In terms of "readability", "visibility" and "discrimination", it is based on the Universal Design font, which boasts high performance, and is further optimized for extremely small screens.

Available in 3 types with different capacities

You can choose from three types with different font file sizes according to the specifications of the device to be installed.

Readability proved by experiment with Kyushu University

We have demonstrated the “readability” of ultra-small screen devices such as smart watches in a joint research with Kyushu University.

Fonts

Since it is an outline font, it is possible to display without jaggies. The weight is only for M.

Features

Type-Ds

Data capacity is about 1/2

Type-Ds is a "lightweight font for ultra-small screen devices" designed specifically for embedded devices. Even if it is displayed in a small size, it retains high readability, but the data capacity is reduced to about half that of normal outline fonts.

No font engine required

Font data is provided in TrueType font format. It can be displayed on Windows or embedded OS without a special font engine.

Type-Dxs

Data capacity is about 1/4

The font data capacity is even lighter than Type-Ds, and it has been reduced to about 1/4 of the normal outline font.

Provided as a set with a font engine that does not depend on CPU / OS

Our original font engine is required to use Type-Dxs. The font engine is CPU / OS-independent, so it is ideal for embedding in equipment that runs on its own OS.
