Overview
GB18030-2022 is a collection of mandatory national standard character codes issued by the General Administration of Market Supervision (Standards Commission) of China on July 28, 2022. It is regarded as the most important basic standard in the field of Chinese information technology, and a uniform code has been set for Chinese characters and many ethnic minority characters (in China).
Based on revisions made in 2000 and 2005, it has become an indispensable standard for processing and exchanging Chinese information with a wide range of applications.
*GB= Abbreviation for National Standard (GuoJia BiaoZhun).
All content specified by GB18030 is mandatory (obligatory).
In addition, according to the relevant provisions of the Standard Law of the People's Republic of China, products that do not comply with national standards may be subject to corresponding penalties.

Main features of GB18030-2022
Normative: Chinese minority characters are also standardized.
Standardization: Resolved multiple codes for one character that existed in the past.
Computerization: We digitized characters such as old products and scientific terms (characters), and recorded most of the characters that are rarely used in people's names and place names.
(GB18030‐2022) Changes in 2022 version
Includes all characters of the "General Standard Kanji Table": Of the 8,150 characters recorded in the "General Standard Kanji Table" published in 2013, 196 characters not included in the 2005 edition are included.
Significant expansion of Chinese characters and radicals: Contains 87,887 characters, about 17,000 more characters than the 2005 edition, and includes 228 kanji radicals.

The GB18030-2022 standard is a compulsory target of China's national standards for all implementation levels 1, 2, and 3.

Font provision method and procedure
New LETS) Square LETS Built-in option
After logging in from the new LETS site, Downloads the target font again from the font selection screen and update it by overwriting installation.
Current LETS) Square LETS Expansion option
Downloads procedure will be sent to the members of the target contract by e-mail.
New LETS) Monotype LETS
After logging in from the new LETS site, deactivate and activate the target font from the font list screen to update the font.
Current LETS) Monotype LETS
It will be updated by selecting and installing the target font from the LETS app.
