Fontworks, in collaboration with Chinese font manufacturer HOUSEI Co., Ltd. and Meirun International Law Office, has published information on the Chinese character code set (GB18030-2022), copyright thinking regarding Chinese fonts, recent court precedents, etc. An online seminar on the theme will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023.
The Chinese character code set (GB18030-2022) has been enforced, and products that exchange characters distributed within China must comply with GB18030-2022.
In the first half of the seminar, we will invite Mr. Shingo Mori, a lawyer from Meirin International Law Office, to explain the copyright philosophy regarding Chinese fonts using recent court precedents.
In the second half of the seminar, HOUSEI Co., Ltd. will provide an overview of GB18030-2022 and explain the changes and points to note in the new version.
There will also be time for questions and answers on the day.
